FEATURES:



FIBERCOMMinc.'s FCPI series is a full duplex, multi-drop/point-to-point. dual mode (master/local switch selectable) communications interface for connecting fiber-optic cables to RS232 ports. The printed circuit board is designed to be used as a fiber-optic replacement for the 400 modem. Located at the front edge of the board are 6 LED's;) Receive 1 (Rl), Transmit 1 (Tl), Power-On (PWR), Anti- Stream (ASTR), Transmit 2 (T2) and Receive 2 (R2). LED's are not operational when the fiber-optic unit is on back-up (battery) power.

Near the front edge are two Emitters (El and E2)(LED type) and two Detectors (Dl & D2). NOTE: Design layout places both Detectors as the two inside devices and both Emitters on the outside. The primary port (JI) is the edge connector. The secondary port (J2) is the RJll connector. Power is supplied to the unit by the host thru the edge connector or by way of the on-board battery. Unplugging the unit from the host disconnects the battery. Three battery options are available and are switch selectable.
