FEATURES:


FIBERCOMMinc.'s FCMB 500 series is a full duplex, multi-drop/point-to-point, dual mode (master/local switch selectable) communications stand alone interface for connecting fiber-optic cables to RS232 ports. The Fiber-Optic Printed Circuit Board is housed in a two (2) piece aluminum case. Located at the front of the unit are 6 LED's Receive 1 (Rl), Transmit 1 (Tl), Power- On (P), Anti-Stream (A), Transmit 2 (T2) and Receive 2 (R2). LED's are not operational when the Fiber-Optic Unit is on back- up (Battery) power. Also on the front are the Emitters (El and E2)(LED Type) and Detectors (D1 and D2). NOTE: Design layout places both Detectors as the two inside devices and both Emitters on the outside.

Located on the back of the unit is a DB9S connector (Jl-primary port) for an interface cable, an RJll (J2-secondary port), a power receptacle (J3) and local/master switch (Sl).

Power can be supplied to the unit by way of the 9 - 12 VDC power receptacle (J3), interface cable (Jl), (power is supplied by the host) or the internal battery (interface cable must be connected). Disconnecting the interface cable at the unit disconnects the internal battery. Three battery options are available and are switch selectable. An optional aluminum mounting plate can be supplied with this unit. Four feet are provided on the bottom of the case on units not ordered with the optional mounting plate.
